FEATURE FRIDAY - Claudia Sheedy (Plenary Speaker)


Dr. Claudia Sheedy will be one of the plenary speakers at the upcoming 10th Annual AGM & Conference in Lethbridge, AB where she will give her talk "Water quality and pesticides in southern Alberta: What a decade of environmental monitoring tells us about pesticide fate and transport in the Canadian Prairies."


Claudia is a research scientist in environmental and immunochemistry with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Lethbridge, Alberta since 2005. Her main scientific interests consist in water quality and trace residue analysis of agricultural contaminants including pesticides, veterinary antibiotics and hormones, and the development of pesticide mitigation strategies such as on-farm pesticide rinsate biobeds to protect water quality.

Claudia is from Quebec City. She obtained her BSc. in Biology and Agronomy from Université Laval in Québec, her MSc. in Immunochemistry from the University of Guelph, and her Ph.D in Antibody engineering from the National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa.
