James Nilsson - University of Lethbridge

Updated: Mar 10, 2022

James is an undergraduate student working in the Pyle Laboratory for Aquatic Health at the University of Lethbridge. James is currently working to test the effects of metabolic impairment on behavioural (using a choice maze) and olfactory response (by electro-olfactography) in fathead minnows by fasting individuals and measuring their response to food cues. Following this, James will be collaborating with Dr. Raine's lab (University of Saskatchewan) to perform endocrine analysis to determine if the expression levels of ghrelin and leptin, two gustatory hormones that control food response.
